The APTDA^® Insurance Program is specifically designed to offer the advantages of group underwriting and the purchasing power of a large group to the owner-operator market.

Insurance is important to both the owner-operators and motor carrier.  It is equally important to provide that insurance in a manner consistent with the status of owner-operators as independent contractors. For that reason, owner-operators can get their coverage directly through the APTDA program. The coverage is portable.  If the owner-operator changes to lease to another motor carrier they can continue their coverage.

The following lines of coverage are available to owner-operators.  Unless otherwise noted the coverage is available only to those owner-operators working under lease with a qualified motor carrier:

§    Passenger Accident

§    Workers' Compensation for Fleet Owners

TAS Insurance Group, (TAS) is the broker for all insurance sold through this program.  TAS focuses exclusively on managing owner-operator insurance programs for their partner agents, motor carriers, and owner-operators.  TAS will work with other brokers to make this insurance available to their clients.
